Girls varsity cross country sealed the deal with a first place finish Tuesday, earning the Ambassador League Championship title. Their undefeated finish is Linfield’s 100th overall league championship in school history. Freshman Ryley Burns led the Lions untouched this season, finishing every meet in first place, with a time of 19:27 on Tuesday! Five other Lion runners placed in the top ten including, Emma Lakatos (3rd), Sienna Blanche (7th), Luca Burns (8th), Dani Williams (9th), and Jaida Norman (10th).
JV girls also won the meet, finishing undefeated in Ambassador league competition. They secured the top three spots in yesterday’s race: Rebecca Graef (1st), Janelle Krome (2nd), and Celine Harris (3rd). Other top Lion finishers included: Natalie Santillan (6th), Kona Kozar (9th), and Maddie Byler (10th).
Varsity boys finished in third place behind Caden Baird (14th) as the top finisher for the Lions, with Nick Beucler (17th), Scudder Sinclair (17th), and Case Cope (18th) to follow.
JV Boys finished in second place for the second consecutive week. Leo Zeng finished in 5th place, with Simon Gutierrez (9th), Cameron Barron (11th), and Wyatt Mohr (12th) also finishing in the top 20 for the Lions.
Middle school girls improved to a 4th place finish behind lead runners Daisy Gale (4th) and Vanessa Perez (17th). Middle school boys finished in 9th place with Logan Pledger securing 2nd place in the race.
High school teams will compete at Mt. Sac this weekend to prepare for Ambassador League Finals on October 30th.
