Both high school and middle school cross country competed in the second Ambassador league meet on Tuesday, October 2nd at RCC Moreno Valley.
The varsity girls won the meet, with Ryley Burns finishing in first place. Burns’ time of 19:03 is now ranked as the third fastest time in Linfield history. Four other Lion runners place in the top ten including, Emma Lakatos (20:56), Luca Burns (21:25), Dani Williams (22:10), and Jaida Norman (22:26).
JV girls also won the meet with Lions securing four out of the top 5 spots:
- Janelle Krome – 2nd (25:42)
- Rebecca Graef – 3rd (25:58)
- Natalie Santillan – 4th (26:19)
- Celine Harris – 5th (26:23)
Varsity boys finished in third place behind a strong Woodcrest Christian team and Ontario Christian. Nick Beucler was the top finisher for the Lions with a time of 17:33. Beucler’s time is now ranked as the second fastest time in Linfield history. Four other Lion athletes finished in the top 20 including Caden Baird (17:35), Scudder Sinclair (17:51), Case Cope (17:59), and Simon Wang (18:33).
JV Boys also secured third place behind lead runner Richard Gray (19:50) and Cameron Barron (21:14).
Middle school girls finished middle of the pack in 6th place behind lead runners Daisy Gale (14:04) and Caylyn Russell (14:53) who both finished in the top 20. Middle school boys finished in 8th place with Logan Pledger placing second with a time of 12:02.
The Lions will run again next Tuesday, October 9th in the third Ambassador League Meet, which will take place at Linfield on the cross country course. Races will begin at 2:55 pm.
