Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.
Lauren Jeremiah
Lauren came in from Calvary and has made an immediate impact on the cross country and track teams. After competing at the state meet for cross country, she has carried the same success over to track as the top Linfield 800 meter runner and running on the 4×400 relay team. Lauren brings a tremendous leadership and composure to this young team–such a great example of a Christ-centered Lion athlete!
Simon Wang
Simon decided to try something new and join boys tennis this spring. He has a great attitude, encourages others, and works very hard. He can often be seen putting in extra hours, hitting balls against the gym wall which has led to a great improvement in his skill. Simon has been a great asset to the Lions tennis program this season.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Alexandra Massie
This was Alex’s second season playing basketball for Linfield. Alex played the point guard position last year on JV and took on the shooting guard position this year. She is a tenacious and thoughtful player, always seeking passing and rebounding opportunities. She is our mighty warrior out there on the court and will lead the pack next year on varsity.
Andrew Leighton
Andrew has filled a different role on the boys varsity basketball team this season. While not receiving too much time on the court he has been a leader during practices. He is eager to help out in drills and eager to see his teammates succeed. He works very hard, all with no complaints and a smile on his face.
Charisma Aragon
Charisma had a phenomenal basketball season, fulfilling the role of the point guard. She came out on the court ready to play and took on an aggressive stance both on offense and defense. Charisma has a passion for the game that translated into shooting baskets, providing assists, and setting the tone for a successful game. She will be a great asset on the varsity team next year.
Ben Shin
Ben was a huge contributor to the Lions’ success in playoffs. He led the team in points scored in the JV team’s playoff victory over Van Avery Prep. Ben has a been a leader on the court, always gives 100% effort and has a bright future in the sport of basketball.
