Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.
Jenny Feng
Jenny has been a great asset to the Linfield Girls Tennis Program this year. She began the season on the JV team and as a result of her hard work and dedication, she was brought up to varsity. Jenny’s play and competitiveness has helped the Lions win some challenging victories! Off the court she is a straight A student and a pleasure to coach.
Nick Beucler
Nick has stepped up this year not only as a captain leading the 6th ranked CIF-SS Division 5 Lions, but he’s also broken the school record on three separate occasions, currently standing at 15:38 for 3 miles. That time ranks him 15th in the state individually and 9th in CIF-SS. A big part of his success is doing the little things for recovery and knowing when to work hard or back off on easy days. His commitment and success has created a new standard for the boys squad that are on a mission to get to the state meet.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Alfredo Guerra
Alfredo has jumped into the season and hit every practice will full effort and no shortcuts. He has a very strong work ethic, is very kind to his teammates, and is a natural encourager.
Caylyn Russell
Caylyn is a prayer warrior and one of the hardest working athletes on the cross country team. She practices beyond what is expected and is the first one to pray with a discouraged or injured runner. She leads by example and has a servant’s heart.
Greg Toth
Greg has been a huge asset to the tackle football program’s success this season. He is an outstanding leader, works hard, and displays a positive attitude both on and off the field. In addition, he is also a dedicated student.
Morgan Fox
“Morgan is a vocal leader and a great teammate. She is confident, but not arrogant. She is quick to encourage her team. She has the heart to serve others, helping with both the LION and JV teams. She listens to her coach, and does what is asked of her, to the best of her abilities. She is willing to play any role that helps the team, and that includes being subbed out to let a teammate get some play time. This is the second season I’ve had the pleasure of coaching her. I am blown away by how much she has improved each year. Morgan simply enjoys volleyball and I pray she continues to enjoy this sport for which God has given her the talent to play. Morgan, always play for HIS glory, and you will never be disappointed!” -Coach Joy Daludado
Anja Mendyk
Anja is a quiet force on the JV volleyball team. She is committed to the team with perfect attendance at practices and game and plays hard at all times. Anja is one of the leading servers and has grown in her role as a setter. Her constant encouragement shows just how much she cares about her teammates.
